| Daunting were the scenes facing the Florida Baptist Convention's Disaster Relief Services. From almost comical placement of metal siding, to complete devastation of a home, the Relief Workers confronted more than broken buildings--broken spirits, broken hearts. It was the worst and best of times for Christian help. | Disaster Scenes During FBC Disaster Relief Services |

| God's ways are not always mysterious. At one home where the roof was being dried in, we discovered this Bible; it was blown open at a very insightful place by Charley ... "The very stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the cornerstone ..." To a group of builders, who were building in the name of Jesus, this was no coincidence. | |

| Our greatest pleasure was serving people in the name of Jesus. Here Kim and her daughter had just been covered with prayer by Pastor Holly, who was still sweating from working on their roof, a roof that now covers them and keeps their belongings dry. | The People of FBC Disaster Relief Services |

| Many of these photos are shot "heroically." Aesthetically, that means that the people and objects within the images are viewed from below, and larger than life. For the men and women working in Disaster Relief, this aesthetic style seemed befitting, at least from this reporter's vantage point. | |

| Literally scores of semi-trailers filled with goods and food were parked at South Biscayne Baptist Church. Children gave up their toys for those who had none. Adults brought water, food, and even some oddities. In all things, however, the love of people for people was unmistakably revealed. God was proud of His creation. | Some of the Resources Distributed by FBC Disaster Relief Services |
